Default Ceiling data in Room schedules

    Hey guys,
Got a rather annoying problem currently. I wish to make a schedule list of rooms, and within that contain data of walls/ceilings/floors etc. I can make my floor data appear ok, but my ceiling height & material data won't show within the schedule itself. The Ceiling Schedule nonetheless contains the data I wish to carry over (ie Type, Area, Height Offset & Assembly Description).
My problem is I'm unable to find these within the project parameters, and therefore pull it into my schedules. Where is it located??

I've spent 24 hours on this so far, and still no solution.

I have created a ceiling type CT:5 Metal Plank. Under the Edit Type properties, I have given it a Keynote of CT:5 (so when I keynote them, I get a short tag, and reference it into a legend afterwards).

That's fine, and works without a problem. How do I now create a schedule that will show me Room Numbers, Room Names and the ceiling keynote?

    Thanks

Thanks! I'm fiddling with them now.
Is there a way to influence a ceiling type through a key schedule, or vice versa?
For example, if I set up a key schedule for Room Styles, how can I get it to cross reference the ceiling type keynote?

You arent going to get a Room schedule to Intelligently "see" what the modeled ceiling is, in the room. It may be POSSIBLE using a third party add on or function, but native Revit flat out wont do it.

Unfortunately, Room schedules currently arent very robust at being able to "use" data from their bounding elements... Other than for calculating areas and volumes.

Unfortunately, there is no link between rooms and ceilings. Since that is not possible yet, we have to do some workarounds. Below is an example: (see illustration)

Schedule # 1 is a Room schedule. It contains Room #, Room Name, Ceiling Height, (taken from the room's Limit Offset parameter, but not linked to the ceiling element), and the Finish Key. (This field will be available after creating schedule 2)

Schedule # 2 is a key schedule of Room elements.
The key parameter is Finish Key. Then you add Base Finish, Floor Finish, Wall Finish, and, instead of Ceiling Finish, there is Ceiling Key, since you want to show more information about your ceilings in another schedule. The values of this Ceiling Key column are added manually, after you do schedule 3.

    Schedule # 3 is a ceiling schedule.
The value of Keynote is taken from the ceiling type's keynote parameter. Then, we have Type, Manufacturer, Assembly Code, etc.

Are you talking about a Ceiling Key Schedule? You would need to create one.
I'd start with looking more at Key schedules in general for more explanation.
