    Default Revit & Urban Design

We are about to start a project for a housing scheme. I'm wondering if Revit will be able to handle such a large project? In total it will span across a area of about 2.5km x 2.5km. Obviously will be making use of linked files.

Any comments and tips will be greatly appreciated.

Techincally it should handle it since 2.5km = 1.55miles and Revit doesn't get upset until you exceed 2miles (1mile each direction of the project origin) and now 2011 will give you a warning but still accept sites that exceed the 2mile limits.

Yes revit should be able to handle your project. Make sure your hardware is up to the task. It think linking it is the best way. My two cents for what it's worth, are to have one file with the site and link the building files to it .

2011 now has a limit of 10 miles each side of the origin, before it won't accept the site.

Use a separate workset in your unit files for the exterior envelope and only load this workset when linking to your master site model.
