    Default Huge Project file

I have inherited a massive project which contains upwards of 50 xrefs ranging from 600kb to 7mb.
This file is slow to pan and zoom. All xerfs have been purged, the drawing opens across our network from a mapped drive on the server.
Currently the users have 512mb of ram on pentuim 3 and 4 pcs running Windows 2000 & Windows XP, the network runs at 100mbps swop files are set to 2gb upper and lower. All windows screen effects are off, and no other processes are running. Graphics cards are 64mb Ati radeon 7000
Any one got any ides how we can speed things up

    Hi

More RAM should help, a better Graphics Card should help....

Give the following threads a browse, they contain some useful information on working with Xref's (especially take note of any links within) -

    Complete slow down of CAD

    making something unselectable

A search within the Forums should turn-up more useful information on this subject -

    Have a good one, Mike
