    Default 2010 COGO Point Question

I am drawing up a survey from cogo points. On the sewer manholes, I would like the label to contain the invert elevation as well as the rim. Is there a way to add an equation to an elevation? For example <[Point Elevation(Uft|P2|RN|AP|Sn|OF)]>-8.99, so that the invert will update if I move from assumed to field elevations.

I would recommend using a User Defined Property.

User Defined Properties allow you to create a new property for your Cogo Points, such as "MeasureDown". Then you can set this value for each Cogo Point (possibly by creating a new Point File Format that includes your "MeasureDown" field, then importing all the data from a CSV file or similar).

Then you can create an expression that returns Point Elevation - MeasureDown, and use this in your label style.

The caveat is, of course, that this only works well if you have a single invert for each manhole. If you have a different number of invert elevations at each manhole, it complicates things.

Thanks. No one at our office has gotten musc into user defined properties yet. But they look interesting.
