How to reduce file size in AutoCAD
Hey,
I usually create 3D model of Aeroplane and for me file size is very important. I want to reduce the file size as per as possible. I usually create the profiles of the aeroplane and loft it. I take minimum sections to reduce the size. Still file size is big. Can you give me some tips to keep the file size minimum.

Maybe I misunderstood you, but it sounds like you are placing three groups of data in the same drawing... plan (top), profile (side), and section (elevation). *If* that is correct, you can reduce files size in the way you work, by placing each category in it's own separate drawing. If you need to work on one while referencing the data from another, use XREF.Originally Posted by shanower_buet

Maybe it's just an early Sunday morning for me (still groggy), but what other *file size* is there?
Aside from some best practices, like not having duplicate lines, etc. I'm not sure what else you mean.

Hi mat.
May be he is suffering from the increasing of the file, and since that he is dealing with 3d Plans
which required big capacity of Memory, besides that , the rendering also would make him angry due to the long time that it would take.

That is true. The file size becomes huge when I create 3D model of aeroplanes. I want to minimize it. I want to maintain the file size within 300-400 KB.

Why would the OP have "three groups of data" in a 3D model?
If it is a model, file size is simply a function of model complexity - oh, and whether or not the model's history has been kept.

That was me, not fully awake yet.
Yes, in a 3D drawing it is one contiguous model, or a series of the same. Whereas in a 2D model each *category* is usually kept within a separate drawing.
