Default Showing an overhead velux on floor plan?

I have a model of a house, the upper floor with a coombed ceiling. There are several velux window family components in the roof, and I need to know how to display these as hidden overhead elements on the floor plan they are over.

Basically what I am looking for is a dashed outline of the velux on my floorplan that I can label as 'Velux'. Any ideas?

Wink Re: Showing an overhead velux on floor plan?

In the Floor Plan view, turn on an Underlay of the 2nd floor or level above.

You should see the skylight. Now, use the linework tool and select "overhead" line style,
and using pick lines, select the skylight outline and lock them in place.

Then, set Underlay back to "none"
and the dashed lines will show up.

The nice thing is, if you move/adjust the skylight on the roof, the dashed lines will move/adjust automatically.

You can use this same technique for roof overhangs, etc.

    cheers

Default Re: Showing an overhead velux on floor plan?

Great, just tried that and it works fine.
Had a bit of trouble at first with the velux windows not showing up on the underlay, but I used one of the standard skylight families as a control. That showed up fine, but the velux families are not showing up at all. I'll look into that.

Cheers for the very quick and accurate reply!
