Default Help with Generic Model Component

I need help figuring this out. I have created a generic model component to call out our ledger angles in plan only. It has worked great until we have begun our first curved masonry building. It will not allow me to use the pick tool to offset 4" from wall. I am attaching a project with example. The family is called Ledger - PSD. Any help would be appreciated on how to tackle this. Thanks.

Unfortuantely line based components can not curve - hence your problem.Only way you could do it is create anouther family for curved ones which arent linebased.
    Sorry for the unhelpful reply!

You can have a line based that curves, but youll have to create it by drawing the chord, and having it curve based on Math formulas.

How would I go about what you are suggesting? Any other ideas? We are trying to not model the ledger angles at this time but once BIM moves further along we will model them. Thanks.

Wayyyyyy back in teh archives of my blog, theres a post about trig formulas in a revit family. In that family, they work backwards, but its the same premise:

In the example on the blog, the WIDTH of the door (Chrod of the circle) and the radius of the arc, derive the arc Length calculation. When you factor in the "t" distance, as a constraint, you can control a line based arc that way.

Its still not very intuitive, since you have to *draw* the straight line (chord) with the two picks of the familty.

what we NEED, is for The factory to open up about whatever wizardry lets a Line Based (structural framing) Family (K-series Bar Joist) be drawn in an arc, that lets it bend, even though nothing special is built in to the family for it.
