Default Bad pdf scan --> Revit model?

I have a bad set of scans of some rendered plans. By "bad" I mean that lines that should be straight are curved in some places, etc. I cannot get access to the original CAD. So far I brought them into AutoCAD, scaled based on the scale shown on the drawings, and started tracing them intending on then bringing the CAD into Revit, but it seems tedious and CAD is bogging down on the pdf file for whatever reason.

Is there a better way to go about this?

Save the PDF as JPG or TIF and then bring it into Revit to trace.
