Default Generic Model - Cut in plan?

I've dug a little in forums, and I suspect the answer is 'no' but...

I've created a sloping volume that continues through all 25 levels of a building. When placed in the model, the visibility of the object does not seem to respond to a given floorplan. For instance, on the 2nd floor, I'd like only to see the segment of the object occurring between the Level 02 slab and the plan-cut for that level (+1500mm or so).

Is there any way for only the 'plan relevant' information to be displayed?

I've noticed a post or two about creating sub-components within the family and turning these on/off per level... I'm just hoping there's a better way. Fingers crossed.

    Thanks.
    j.

Without seeing the family it's difficult to say but only the geometry within the view range should be showing in the view. The family category may also affect how it displays.
You say it is a sloping 'volume'... is it a mass object?
Check your depth clipping settings. Post the family if you can't resolve it and we can take a look.

Thanks for the info... haven't figured it out yet, but I'm posting the family in case anyone is dying of curosity*.

    Cheers.

Did you ever find an answer for this?

Check out the Depth Clipping parameter. This should allow you to control how much of what you see based on your view range.
