Annotation Symbols

Hi All,

I have a dout regarding the size of annotation symbols on various sheet sizes.

Does any standard insist to follow the same size for a Drawing Title or a Callout Head or a Section Tag on A0, A1 and A2 sheets?

To be more clear...

Suppose the radius of the bubble in Drawing Title (please see the attachment) is 6mm on A0 Sheet. Does it have to be 6mm on A2 size Sheet too? Or, should I reduce the bubble size on A2 sheet?

Can anyone put some light on it?

Symbols (and text) should always be the same size regardless of paper size.

I have decided to follow the way you suggested. Even I had the same in mind, but someone commented that the symbols look bigger for smaller sheets (A2 Size).
I just wanted a clarification and I hope I got it.

Hi Hari.
You'll sometimes find that people will create one drawing border then scale it up or down to create other sheet sizes. This wrong but not uncommon and is why (title block text, for example) sizes vary.

Yeah, True... I agree with you John..
Personally, I hate scaling the title block that way, to fit for different sheets.
I have different title blocks for different sheet sizes.
Scaling the titleblock 'Up' can somehow be tolerated but scaling it 'Down' might reduce the font sizes, making them non-legible.

However, according to me, when it comes to annotation symbols, the same problem of font size becomes a headache. The Drawing Number and Sheet number in a Callout Head can shrink too much...!!!

No matter what the sheet size is we always plot text at 1/8" and larger sizes for Titles etc..

The only time we scale down is to set plot units 1 to 2 for half size sheets for mark-ups etc

Actullay all we do CORP work and they reqire pdf's at 11x17 and the dwg's at 34x22 which is

nice instead of large site plans it would be nicer to use larger sheets.
