Default normal vs. pattern based curtain wall panel

played a bit w/ this new pattern based stuff along w/ concept mass, adaptive component, etc., great tool for Concept design, but just wonder how this can be useful in later design stage, like SD / DD / CD?

for instance, seems pattern based panel cannot be used in normal curtain wall (?), so how can you get your project curtain wall (using normal panel) to match the conceptual mass curtain wall (using pattern based panel)? as I import the conceptual mass curtain wall into the project every thing looks great, except it’s all a mass, i cannot figure out the way to convert to normal curtain wall so it can be more easily handled at later design stage.

maybe i missed something simple or just a limitation? thanks.

I have been studying this topic, and this is what I can tell you (so far), (stick around):
When we apply an adaptive component pattern to a divided surface in the conceptual design environment, and then we load the mass family into the project, the surface keeps being a mass, not a curtain wall element; however, we can still schedule their panels as Curtain panels. These are some of the things that can be documented:
    • Number of Curtain panels, and their marks.
      Area of each panel.
Dimensions of each panel (with reporting parameters). (See illustration).

Even though the panels are recognized as panels, the division between panels are not recognized as mullions, but there might be a way to schedule these mullions. I don't know yet. The area of the whole surface is available through a mass schedule, since it's not a curtain wall element but a mass.

thanks Alfredo, confirmed my understanding for this great yet limited tool.
i guess you have to model "mullion" stuff within that mass or adaptive component family before loading into project (?), but how to schedule these "mullions"?
