Does any one have a suggestion for the purpose of ISCustom check box in the the other category in the family type editor?
Late to the party but here goes...
The purpose of this parameter is to be programmable, so you can check if a generated fitting exists in your lookup table. If it doesn't, this checkbox can be set to True, which results in a Revit warning. If it's False then the fitting must be valid, and Revit won't interrupt you.
This is especially useful when switching from generic fittings to manufactured fittings.
