Default constrain lost w/o warning after loading into project

don't know if anyone experienced the following issue:

    see attached jpg,
left is the window family which is OK when flexing within family editor.
right is the one after loading into project, constrain lost when flexing, but no warning at all.
the window pane is the nested family.

anyone have idea what normally causes such problem? i mean
    1) flexing is OK in family editor
    2) flexing is not OK sometimes in project level
    3) no warning of constraint lost

    thanks.

thanks Cliff, nested family not shared at this moment.

well, i fixed the problem, i changed the way of constraining, previously i constrained all 5 panes together first (mainly horizontal direction) and then constrained to left ref plane, now i separate into 3, left 2 panes constrained to left ref plane, right 2 panes constrained to right ref plane, middle pane constrained to center ref plane.

my guess is the direction of flexing for each pane causing the issue if i "chain" all panes together.
