Default Determine DWG version of current opened drawing

Summary: The ability to determine the version of the currently opened drawing.

Description: The ability to query the version of the current opened dwg through the command console.

How Used: Customers ask me to save their dwg in a particular version. This info is only seen in the command console when the dwg is first opened. If it's not an original AutoCAD dwg, it's not seen at all. I would use a command like this to quickly check the version so I know how to save the updates.

the current open drawing is always in the version of AutoCAD that is running. Whatever old version it was in is upgraded transparently as the dwg file is loaded into memory. If you want to saveas an earlier version, that really can't be automatic since the operator will have to make decisions about what to save, what to export, and how to handle the backwards conversion. Even if you just accept the OOTB defaults, that's still a decision the operator is making.

This is why I install TrueView alongside AutoCAD, and for the document control department - users can batch entire folders prior to sending back drawings.

This wish has been reported as granted and already in the software.
