Question Family Group Editing (No Way Out?)

I'm working in Revit 2011 Build 20100615_2115 Web update 1 Service Pack.

We created a group in a family and then went to edit the group, no problem there until we tried to finalize the edit. No green check mark to be found. How do you finish a group edit in the family? I can't seem to find the way out. Ultimately we ungrouped and edited the objects.

I often find that the group edit toolbar that Cliff is referring to disappears randomly. When this happens, I use the FG keyboard shortcut to Finish the Group editing mode.

Thanks Cliff, The problem was that tool palette was no where to be found.

The keyboard shortcut is a nice quick way out.

Another post by pjensen back in April at ( http://forums.augi.com/archive/index.php/t-117212.html ) indicated the following work around:

Create a new project using the default template.
Create a simple group & enter edit mode.
Dock the group edit toolbar to the ribbon.
    Save & close project.
Open your upgraded project & Revit should remember the toolbar location in the ribbon.

Thanks guys for your quick response. I love this forum.

The toolbar disappears at random when its not docked in to the ribbon. After you get out of the group (KS, if you have one set up, or undo), get out of Revit and do this:

Once you wipe out the UI State, the floating toolbar will come back. My advice? Immediately drag it up to the ribbon, and dock it. Then it tends to not get lost as much.

Its happened to 5 machines here already.

Happens to me as well. I just ended up using the keyboard shortcuts and not worrying about it.
