    Default Corrupt File

I have have been doing a building model on university computers and then moved over to my computer located at home. After spending a considerable amount of time on it, I now find that when I transfer the file to any other computer, it comes up with an error upon opening...

An error occured and the application will now close.Do you want to attempt to save a copy of the following scene.

when i press ok, it comes up saying recovery failed. application will now close.

Is there any way around this? thanks.

ps. i have made a lot of saves, but the same problem occurs with all of them saved on the home computer. so going back is no option.

Does it work fine on your home pc? If that is the case then you might need to consider that what you have done in the file could be really big and is crashing on any other machine. If that isn't the case then we will need to find out what other information we can to resolve the problem.

What about version compatability? Are you using the same version at both locations? That sounds like the error that I get when trying to open a file saved from a current version from an older version...

They are both design 2010, it was done in a student edition but that should be the problem. The home computer is windows 7, and it opens in other windows 7's but not in any of the other operating systems that I have tried. I think I might just save a random file from windows 7 and see if it opens on the other systems, i guess if it does, then its my files problem. I will post the link to the file here if you have a chance to have a look at it, and tell me if it opens and what system you are running.
