    Default Scale of .shp file??

I have a Map3D drawing that I brought in a .shp file and the data is not the correct scale in the drawing. I don't know how that can happen. Here's what I did, maybe somebody can explain what's wrong: I took waypoints off a GPS unit, saving as a .gpx file. Then I opened Garmin DNR and selected the waypoints and saved them as a.shp file, then connected to the data in the drawing. I have the aerial images and the boundary survey in the drawing that I know are the correct scale and the points came in looking about half the area they should be compared to the wetland they are supposed to show. I'm fairly new to Map3D and GIS and confused by this.

Did you import your shape file into a new drawing, based on your template, or into an existing drawing?

Also, when you use the ._mapimport command to import your shapefile, you have the option (in the upper left?) to select the appropriate datum for your location.

    Hope this helps!

Thanks, that helped. I was using my template, but I was using Data Connect to bring in the GPS points. When I used mapimport, I didn't have a problem.
