Default AutoCAD 2011/Win7 - not responding by xref editing

AutoCAD 2011 with update 1.1 running under win7 is not responding if one issue a command to edit the xref contained in the current drawing file. Has anyone out there having this trouble?

Have you tried editing the xref drawing itself, instead...?

You're right, refedit is still not a good option. I thought it has improved for the 2011 version, but it's not. I advised my co-workers just to use xopen.

I am using 2011 Mech with Win7-64 and the few times I have used refedit I have not had any problems. I mainly use xopen but not always.
