    Default Sweeping and Joining Masses

    Hi, I am very new to revit so excuse me for my terminology, but I am trying create two solids that meet at the top.

    One solid would be vertical and the other would be vertical then at a certain point will split and meet with the other one at the top.


    Basically I am asking how would I go about doing this? I know how to sweep and all that stuff but I can't figure it out after the 1st level.

    I have to build the structure of the building in the picture below.

    i'm finding it a bit hard to match your words to that picture...but if your doing basic modelling only i'd be using voids to cut edges, make the hole etc.

    Best practice would probably be to use Conceptual Masses, but for a rookie, the shape can be somehow matched with one swept blend and a void to cut the circle...

    BTW, the circle was changed before actual construction, because the Shanghai Mayor would not accept the emblem of the Japanese Rising Sun, on a Chinese building build by Japanese developer Minoru Mori...
