    Default Brick wall graphics

Hi, the default graphics(in hidden lines) for common brick(which is an inconsistent 225 x 75) is not the pattern Im after. What I would like is just a consistent 200 x 100 brickwork pattern. Is the anyone who could advise on how to achieve this?

    Welcome to the forums Scott.
Go the material editor, edit the existing material or create a new one, and apply a surface pattern matching your needs. That material can then be applied to your wall assembly.

    Thanx for the response,
I did manage to change the material to a brick that was the right size, but this didn't change the surface pattern. There is only one surface pattern to choose from so when I go into 'hidden lines', I am left with the problem.

Not clear on where 'hidden lines' come into it. Can you explain in more detail what you are trying to accomplish?

Firstly, thankyou for the warm welcome Dimitri.
I am a student studying building design and have an assignment where i need to draw up elevations of an existing house. The default linework in the in the 'hidden lines' mode, which is the same that appears on sheets, is nothing like the pattern I am after, even though I have changed the material to an appropriate brick, that brickwork only shows up in the 'realistic' visual style. Another way to describe it is the the brickwork on my sheets is different from the brickwork that is shown in 'realistic' visual style. I'm new to revit so I hope I'm not too annoying. Actually, I just tried printing the drawing and the problem seems to be resolved.
    Cheers,
    Scotty

Ah. Now I get it what you mean. The Hidden line visual style will only show a Linework surface pattern. The 'realistic' mode is a sort of 'render light' and uses the bit map assigned to the material to display a more 'realsitic' representation of the material, complete with color and texture. Depending on the scale of the view you are looking at surface patterns may not always appear correctly on your monitor. As you've discovered they will still print properly.
