    Default SHP text entities

I've been sent a coutour map as .SHP files which I need to bring into Acad. The linework comes in fine, but the text entities are imported as line objects. Any idea why Acad doesn't read these as text? And how I get around this glitch?
    cheers

    Default Re: SHP text entities

Shape files are either Lines(plines), Polygons or Point. If you have a shape file that is text it comes in as points. You need to create Object data on the import, then either create annotation blocks to label then or preform an alter text query after you save the dwg and attach it to a new dwg.
    OR
Use data connect and create a style to label the shp features in one easy to use dwg.
