    Default Project level nesting changes

    Hey all,

I just checked out the video for superdoor.

    http://www.cadtechnologycenter.com/v...superdoor.html

Does anyone know the technique they use for being able to load families into your project then use them as a nested element of another loaded family?

I am told that there is no API involved....

This could be a small dream come true...

Simple. Add a parameter for family category. Then, for any nested family you want to add you use the same category. The nested family must be shared to become available.

    On a completely related note:

Does anyone know if the family selector can be filtered to restrict which nested families show up? For instance, if you have panels and frames loaded under the door cat, can you limit the selection to just the panels? Sub Categories would be useful.

Currently you can not. Some people use the workaround of using categories that arent used by their office, but this stinks... Because then your Door Panels are loaded under Nurse Call Devices, or something.

Everything that is loaded and of the same category, will show up.

Theyre ordered in the order theyre loaded in. We took painstaking efforts in our template to load them in, in alpha order. LOL. After that its a free for all.
