    Default Organizing drawings

Is there a way to create folders ini my project browser so that I can organize the sheets as per the phase of project (schematic design, design development, construction documents). I have a different format for my schematic design sheets. I ended up doing dependent copies of the plans so that I could place them on different sheets.

I also wish there was a way to print a plan on a full size sheet or a small size sheet which may only be a partial plan.

How do you manage and organize your drawings.

this may get you going on the Browser organizational front:

I think that making duplicate views for views with varying sheet or output formats is one of the purposes of duplicate views. Have you tried Duplicate as Dependent?

I don't quite understand what you are trying to do with your printing question. If you want to print the same view at different scales you again need to duplicate the view.

at the bottom of your view window/s there is a "show crop region" and "crop view" button, which allows you to adjust the viewing area to show only part of your view...if this is what you mean?

    Thank You for your input.
There was lots of good information in your blog on manging your views that I am looking into. I also found the project browser organizer.

My printing question refers to when you want to print a partial plan for example during the construction administration phase and it sounds like you will have to do this by duplicating the view as a dependent and then add it to a new sheet format.

Look for some of my recent posts (last week) and also other threads on CA sketches. I have created a 8.5x11 sketch title block, with a separate sheet number parameter (just a text field) and a nested masking annotation family. I can plop this on top of an existing sheet with drawings, and it will print only the area of the 8.5x11 sheet while covering up everything else. When you're done, simply hide the sketch TB in the view (shortcut EH). If you need it again you can click the light bulb icon and unhide it.
