Google Earth Images - Scaling Issue?

DISCLAIMER: First of all I want to point out that I don't use Civil 3D on a daily basis, so my new challenges may in fact be old ones to you all.

Has anyone had the "challenge" where if you import from Google Earth an image into Civil 3D the scale of the image is off? I didn't notice this when I was working with R2009, but with R2010, I am noticing it more.

I only notice when my survey tech gives me points and the plotted points (yes, I have inserted them correctly) are not lining up with the digital image.

I have inserted a PDF of the digital image with the points and where the points should be.

Hi,

The problem occurs the GE image geo-reference in C3D is applied only by the center point of the image.

Our software (Plex.Earth) addresses this issue, by providing also many more features - such as the creation of imagery mosaics etc.

I have seen issues with the way C3D 2010 brings Google Earth images in. Bring an Image in, sketch on top of that image, export the linework out to GE, it's not in the same place.

Seems to be corrected in 2011 though.
