    Default Text Mask looses text

When I use the text mask command on text, the text disappears. I try to select text to bring to front but no text is found to be gripped. Am I missing a setting?

are you using the express tool textmask? or applying a text mask property? Have you tried a regen? or sending the mask to back, then bringing the text and mask to front?

are you attempting to use it on annotative text? Try changing your annotation scale, then switching back.

    you're welcome.

A lot of the express tools dont play well with newer objects, mostly I think it is because they use entmod (or something like that) and that doesnt play well with the annotative objects, that and express tools are in need of a complete overhaul.

If your using mtext I would recommend using the background mask properties of the mtext instead. Unlike the express tools text mask, the background mask will change sizes with the annotative text.

and it it's text, use the express tool to convert to mtext. MText masking generally seems "better" than the other sort.
