Default Pipe elbow going wrong direction

I would like to know if this is just an isolated instance or if everyone deals with this.
This is a pipe reducing short tee (OOTB).
Does anyone know why it models the fitting backwards.
    Horizontal pipe
If I model from the top of the pipe it assumes the flow to go right.
If I model from the bottom of the pipe it assumes the flow to go left.

    Vertical pipe
If I model from the right of the pipe it assumes the flow to go down.
If I model from the left of the pipe it assumes the flow to go up.

Once those down syndrome fittings are in, forget about modifying them.
I have to mirror the correct one to get it on the other side.
