    Default Raster plotting woes

    Hello,

Apologies if this thread has been posted in the wrong section, I suppose plotting issues could just be general AutoCAD but opted for the Civil Engineering section as I am using Civil 3D 2010.

I have a drawing containing 3D polyline (as contours) positioned over 2 SID georeferenced raster images. When plotting the drawing, either the image or the polylines seem to shift out of position with each other. Has anyone ever come across this kind of problem before? Any thoughts?

Another thing to mention is that if I create PDF and then plot that, it prints correctly from the same plotter.

I am using a fully up to date version of Civil 3D 2010.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Edited to add:

Plotter is an HP1055 model, and if I plot to the nearby A3 printer it displays fine so I'm guessing there is an issue with the plotter. We have 2 HP1055 plotters which both produce the same problem...

How did you bring in the SID images? Using the FDO (Data Connect) there were reports of the images being moved when plotting. Also you may need to turn off Mapplottransparency that caused issuse if there's multi viewports in a layout.

    Hi and thanks for replying

I used the mapiinsert command to insert the SID files. I've only ever used the mapplottransparency command when working with SDF files, but I'll give it a go and let you know how I get on...might even try importing the SID file using the FDO too if I have no luck!

    Thanks again

The Map Image Insert works better at plot time. You may want to check and make sure you do have the lastest SP for C3D 2010 installed. There were some issues with the SID files doing that and can't say for sure a fix was in one but there may of been.
