How do I find and delete an import symbol if I dont know which view it exists on?

Remove it from the view or from the project?
what do you mean by Import Symbol?
If you know of a view that it exists on, you can right click and find refering views or just delete it from the browser (removes from project).
By import symbol I mean dwg. I can't find the dwg to right click on it, this is essentially my problem, how to delete a dwg from a project if you can't remember how to select it.
Thanks for the reply
Hi Drew.
Short term solution, download a trial copy of Ideate's BIM Explorer.

It looks like a pretty good investment and combined with their BIM Link tool might be a worthwhile bundle while it's a two fer
Drew,
Am I understanding this correctly:
Someone imported a cad dwg into your model and you'd like to go delete it, but can't find where they put it?
Off the top of my head I'm not sure how you'd find which view it is "housed" in.
I don't think there's anything under the Families or Groups which you could see it listed there and right click and choose show.
Unfortunately, I can't find anything that states how to hunt it down.
Other than the obvious going through every view to see if it's there.
It didn't happen to be placed on it's own workset so you can isolate it, did it?
Dimitri's suggestion is the only way I have been able to find them....I used it with 2009...

Sorry for digging up this thread, but this problem is still here today even in Revit 2018!
For people looking for a solution today, we unfortunately will need a plugin. I tried the one Dimitri posted below, yet it is a very extensive set of tools & I only wanted some DWGs gone...
Went for DWG Explorer instead. Helped me see which imported DWGs were in which views and delete them all in a few minutes!
