    Default noob question about Families

I am just getting started with Revit MEP 2011. My work is more Chilled Water/Steam/Condensate. Are there Families for buttweld CS150, CS300? Are there Families for weld-neck and slip-on flanges? If I have existing specifications (CADWorx, AutoCAD Plant 3D, AutoPlant) can I easily convert them into Revit Families? Where should I go (if not here) to find this kind of information?

    Thanks

Look to the manufacturers first if you dont feel the need to learn and build your own families. They might have what you need (Victaulic has a great site). I would recommend building them yourself if you have the time and money available. This will give you more flexibility, and leaner families. As your on the tip of a revolution, there isnt an over abundance of information on how to do this, but AUGI is a great start. I do a lot of chilled water systems, and have not had a hitch yet, but I also am a ninja assassin when it comes to making families flex.
