You contacted Autodesk, or your reseller?

I don't see Autodesk telling you to go to user forums for help unless you are not on subscription and then only as a suggestion. We are users just like you...

Unhandled exception errors are difficult if not impossible to diagnose. A few are documented in the Autodesk KB, but most are drawing related, hardware related, and/or solved with a repair/reinstall.

When do you get this error?
    At startup?
While working on a particular drawing?
    While running a certain command?

LT2009 is not supported in Windows 7: that's your problem most likely.

Did your issue appear at the same time you moved to Windows 7?
Or has it always been there in Windows 7?

What triggers the error message? Or is it random?

Are you running LT2009 in Win7 XP/Compatibility mode?

We have been running LDT2009 on Win7x64 for a while now, with no problems.
Are there specific problems with LT on Win7? Unsupported doesn't necessarily mean non-functional.

    Who exactly told you this?

Then it's probably the drawing itself.
Have you run Audit on it?
Have you opened it with ._Recover instead of ._Open?
    More suggestions here: http://cadpanacea.com/node/18

Who are "they"?. "They" are probably going by the fact that 2009 is not officially supported on Win_7. That's just because Win_7 didn't exist when 2009 was published.

2009 works on Win_7 see here.

The comment "I think it can be assumed that LT versions and verticals will behave the same as the full versions" has been proved doubtful for some verticals but not for LT as far as I know.

If the problem is one file, fix the one file, it's not an AutoCAD issue: RECOVER command, or AUDIT command, or WBLOCK out the content you want to keep from modelspace to create a new file, then INSERT that new file into a working template.

Or post that DWG file here for others to examine.

They probably meant to point you towards the Autodesk forums (http://forums.autodesk.com), where there are support personnel who try to step in if the community can't answer the question.

But you've already seen some good suggestions here.
