Default How to apply material direction to a Mass

Is it possible to change the material direction on: e.g. different faces of a single mass (project) or object (family editor)? Any information on this subject would help.

Not directly in the massing tools. Once you are outside the mass editor you can use the paint tool as a quick way to apply materials.
The preferred method would be to 'skin' the mass by applying 'wall by face' and creating a variety of different finish wall assemblies.
