    Default wall section basics

I am setting up wall sections on a 5 story building. Typically (in CAD) we use one annotation (callout or section tag) to reference a wall section. The wall section is broken down into vignettes that show only portions of the overall section (floor connections, foundation wall/framed wall connection, etc). These all fit on one sheet because we do not show the entire wall (it isn't necessary) and are referenced from one tag. It seems that to stack wall section vignettes in Revit, they must be separate details. Is this correct or is there another way of going about setting up wall sections? thanks!

You can acheive the same thing as you outlined

Do your x1 section as normal
Go to the section view and "break" the view by selecting one of tthe little "squiggles" in the cropbox as highlighted in the attached view - this breaks the view into x2 bits that you can then pull together as shown

Thanks. I managed to get that far, but I missed the tiny up/down arrow in the middle of the vignette that allows one to move the vignette up or down while the others stay put. It disappeared in the layers drawing lines in the vignette.

I have a sheet of 2D wall section details that are versitile enough for any situation and based on the gypsum association manual. Each detail has a "dummy" view title, so revit doesn't know one from the other. Then I match the wall 'type mark' to match the 2D details. Then you can do a "tag all" and all the walls are referenced, and I don't have to draw details or callouts.
