cadtag that's great all I need is sarcasm!!! Hard to believe that I'm the only AUGI user that doesn't have a choice and needs to use what they can for software. Seems like a viable question to me!!

    Thanks again!!!

I really don't think cadtag was being sarcastic - if he were, there would be no doubt about it.
What he says does make some sense.

John's right -- when I get snarky it'll be obvious. no sarcasm meant here at all... and seriously, my local goodwill is full of dell precision 380s dumped by corporate. that's a circa 2006 XP box, with sata hard drive and nvidia 256mb graphics. That's better than anything you could have bought new in 2003 to run LDDT 2004. generally $125/ea.

if you want to ship them this way to free up space, I'll set them up to run on world community grid's 'cure cancer now' application. Pull the hard-drives out to protect company info -- i've got a pile of ide drives that will work. atm i've got 5 junkers running on that task....

My wife passed away from breast cancer, so I try to support the research efforts where I can.

    Just to update everyone:

For the record I installed my Autocad Land Desktop 2004 on my Windows 7, 64bit machine without any major problems. I had to add the location of the ac1st16.dll file location to environmental variables (under my computer) and I had to open Autocad/Land Desktop 2004 as an administrator. It’s running smooth as can be!!!

    Sincerely,

    rbrekke

I am contract IT for several offices which use AutoDesk products. I signed up today just to report that I was able to get Land Desk 2004 installed on Windows 7 x64 with a single minor tweak which did not require setting any environment variables.

Will you please share how you accomplished this? Thanks in advance!
