Default Several multiview blocks in a single file

Is it possible to have several multiview block definitions in a single file? I'm attempting to make a single standards file to hold all of our office content but when I try to update a palette of multiview blocks they all insert the last block I defined.

no problem at all or they wouldn't work! It sounds possibly like your MVB's or the blocks within them don't have seperate names. Are they actually functioning correctly when gathered together? ie. change views, display reps etc and do they all appear differently?

I guess my original question wasn't clear. When you create multiview blocks, or any aec content for that matter, using the aec content wizard you have a choice to create the content in a new drawing file or in the current file. If I'm in my standards file that has all of my content and use the wizard to create several multiview blocks in that drawing every tool on my palette inserts the block that was defined last. What I wanted to know was if there was a process that allowed for the creation of several tools from a single file.

If you are creating AEC Content, then you will want to keep each content item in a separate file, as the AEC Content settings are stored in the file. Is there a reason you are creating AEC Content? Or could you get equivalent results by creating a Tool palette tool, where you could have one source file with multiple Multi-View Block Definitions, and have a Tool palette tool for each definition?

I'm creating AEC content because that's the only way I know how to create tools for my palettes. I would LOVE to have another option for making tools that would allow me to consolidate everything into a single file. Any idea where I could find instructions on how to do that?

Create your source file and load it up with Multi-View Block Definitions. Save the file to its "permanent" location (if you need to share the tools and content with multiple users, then a network location is probably best).

If you have an instance of each Multi-View Block placed in the source file, you can open it (from its permanent location) and drag each instance onto an editable palette to create a tool. Or, if you prefer, you can open Style Manager, open the source file (if you do not already have it open in your ACA Session, expand the Multi-Purpose Objects node and select the Multi-View Block Definitions node. Over in the right pane, select each definition and drag it onto an editable palette to create a tool.

Right click each tool and choose Properties. Edit the tool's properties as necessary (assign a Layer Key and/or Overrides, preset scale factors, etc.).
