Default Copy / Paste from Legend to Legend

I want to copy a legend from one project into another, but simple copy/paste isn't working. Is there a different method for working with legends?

    copy paste should work.
    A couple things though.

Make sure both projects are open in the same session.
Make sure both legends are set to the same scale.
Next when pasting go to the modify tab and use the paste tool, select paste from clip board.

Thanks! That got it to work, but it's unfortunate that it has to be in the same session, since these projects are linked and Revit get grumpy when you have both of them open. That was why I had them open in separate sessions before.

I don't open 2 linked files in the same session because of the "grumpiness". I use what I call a blank/transfer file, so I don't have to open the 2 linked files together at the same time.

You could have opened the 1st linked.rvt file, and then opened a blank/transfer.rvt file, copy/pasted into the blank/transfer.rvt file, then close the 1st linked.rvt file, then open the 2nd linked.rvt file and copy/paste from the blank/transfer.rvt file into the 2nd linked.rvt file.

    catfeesh or Capiche?

That's not a bad idea. Still clunky, but it would work better than opening 2 linked projects. Did I read somewhere that the 2012 version makes it easier to have linked projects open in one session?

I personaly dont find it much of a hassel to unload (not detach) the link file open it up and copy paste between files.

once i am done i close a the file reload the link and then i go to lunch.
