Default Reload link to shared coordinates

Once a model has been linked via shared coordinates and then the link gets moved. How would I go about getting the linked model back to the original location? Without finding base points from model to model. Basicly is there a Revity simple way?

Would be nice if reload under mangaged links would give an option to reload via shared coordinates and re-possition the linked model back in place.

You can "Acquire Coordinates" in the Project Location panel....

    Hi cdatechguy
    Thanks for the reply

Unless I am missunderstanding, I have already aquired the coordinates when the project was set up and I linked in the stru model, this is how I made it a shared coordinate system by acquiring the coords.

But a user has moved the Stru link in the Arch model. If I aquire coords. again it tells me the shared coordinate system has already been set up and the linked model does not move back into place.

    Am I missing something?

    Thanks

If your model is defining the location of the structural model then you just move it back....then you will get a message about saving the linked model to the new coordinates.

This is why I like defining all building locations on the site plan...

Yes, we don't define by a site plan but we do have a defined 0,0,0 point, where each link has a defined pie wedge so when linked all the linked models create a full pie, so if a link gets moved we can just turn on the pie and move the pie back into place, the common sweet spot. easy. (I know that this may or may not make sense, sort of vage) but it works.

This project I am working on was before this pie idea. The only problem is to find a common point to move the model back into place is not as easy as just saying it. Though this is what I was afraid I would have to do, I was crossing my fingers that someone had a different technique or Revit had matured to solve this issue.

    Thanks for your help.

Still would be nice to have the option to reload link with shared coordinates to fix an accidental moving of a link. (this is a hint for anyone at AutoDesk taking notes...)
