    Default Line Weight Scale & Color Dependant Layers & CTB

    Let's say we have created our title block on a layout tab and started importing floor plan on a model space at 1:1 scale.

    Now we go back to our layout tab and create a viewport for;
    Floor plan at 1/8" scale
    Enlarged floor plan at 1/4" scale

    What I want to achieve is I want to use 1 CTB(plot style file) and be able to have 1/8" floor plan lineweight exactly 1/2 of 1/4" enlarged floor plan.

    How do you do this?

    What if those plans and enlarged plans were in different sheet and I want the line weights to scale properly without creating another CTB nor manually tweaking layer settings?

    Please email / post your ideas to;
    ykang@bassenianlagoni.com

    Thanks much

    In 2010 and higher (don't know 2009 could do this) you can assign different colors to layers on a per viewport case.

    2009 has per viewport over-rides. IIRC 2008 & above have that.

    another options would be to plot to PDF and insert that, scaled appropriately.

    Though, to my mind, using two different line weights on the same sheet to represent the same object feels a bit odd...

    I could *maybe* see it for schematic line representations (network wiring, for example) but for objects thats just begging for problems.
