    What is the main different between Civil 3D 2009 and 2010?

    The ribbon functions, 09 only has AutoCAD ribbon.
    Stability! If you have a choice between the 2, go with 2010.
    2010 C3D drawings can not be opened in 09, so keep that in mind.
    There are some other new and improved features, but I can't recall what they are.

    Intersection design was introduced in 2010 and the survey module was given a major over haul.

    If you Google "civil 3d 2010 new features" you will get several hits.
