Default Can you create a local server on same machine as a Central Server?

We currently have a server set up with Revit Central Server installed on it. We need to set up a Local Server for another project that the central server is located in another location. We were hoping to install the local server on the same server but the installation doesn't give us the option to install because it sees that it's already installed. Is there some other way to install a local server to this machine?

    I'm not sure I follow....

You're Central Server is set-up and running, for users in that office the Central Server also functions as their local server.

For users in another office, there needs to be server hardware in that office, that functions as their local server and is connected over the wide area network to your central server in the main office.

It sounds like ninnes wants to setup their Central Server to also act as a Local Server for a different Central Server. AFAIK, this is not possible. If you really wanted to run both functions on one machine to save on hardware costs, your could virtualize each one (Local Server and Central Server) and run them on the same machine that way.

Rereading I think you are correct about the intent, and yes, you are correct this is not possible.

Ninnes, is there a specific reason why the other project can't use the existing Central Server and simply have another local server? Are there issues with secure access to project files, or something like that? RS is currently designed to be a Hub & Spoke system with multiple Local Servers connected to a single Central Server with multiple projects making use of the Server infrastructure.
