Does anybody know how to set up AutoCad for feet-inch-sixteenth input and dimensioning which is standard in truss design? Example: 12' 3-1/2" would be represented as 120308 or 12-3-8; 16" would be either 10400 or 1600 ( 1',4", 0 sixteenths or 16", 0 sixteenths). Drawing a line of specific length for instance would be: click for start point, indicate direction with mouse, enter length (distance) as ftinss (feet inches sixteenths e.g. 111012 , 11' 10-3/4). Truss design and AutoCad are joined at the hip. Drawings produced by a truss design system frequently require annotation, modification, or addition of elements. Having a consistent method of input and dimensioning would be a major help. Thanks.
