Civil 3d 2012 startup issue

Running 2012 on Windows XP, with the network using roaming profiles.

We're having some problems with the tools, and I think it's file/folder permissions that are causing them. Does anyone know the particular folders that absolutely need write access?

Also, for some reason the program does it's "first time startup" every time the computer is rebooted. Thinking this is a permission issue in the registry, but I'm not sure.

I'm not sure about the roaming profiles, but the First Time Startup is as designed, it is the first time the program is being started after the computer is being turned on, not after installation.
