Default How do I place a face-hosted step light onto a wall sweep?

I have a wall with a brick wainscot wall sweep. I need to place step lights on the brick. To make the sweep host the light, I first created the light as an unhosted fixture, nested that into a face-hosted generic model, changed the category to Light Fixture, and used a void cut in the face-host template to make the light cut the host face.

So I loaded it into my project and it works great on a normal wall face. But when I try to place it on the brick wall sweep, it says there's a circular chain of references among the highlighted elements, and it lists the wall and 2 deleted elements.

Not sure why this won't work. Can anyone take a look at it please?
