I think elevation markers, like section markers, should be an editable family. I have some projects created in older versions of Revit (before elevation markers were introduced as a system family). Even if I insert a custom-made annotation in the plan view, I cannot control the "depth of field" for these elevations. And, if I want to change the system elevation symbol to match the National CAD Standards, right now there are only limited options for doing so.

I'd like them to be view independant too. If I move one on a key plan, it moves everywhere else as well. The other anno objects are, let's make it consistent.

I agree, Steve. Though, I've noticed that behavior in section heads also: when I move them in one view, often they move in other views too.

You're right, in plan views they do behave this way...in sections and elevations they remain independant or have I got it backwards?? Guess I'll have to check huh?
