    Default Section Heads

    Hi,

I am having a go at creating a new section head. The default ones in Revit don't match our company standard.

    A few issues;

    1) The text remains in the same place and doesn't rotate with the section.

    2) The tail is coloured black where as the Head is blue. Not really an issue but if I turn off the tail and turn it back on It appear blue.

    3) The '-' is a detail number but I can't change this in the properties even though I have defined it - why is that?

    Thanks very much in advance.

    How can I fix this?

    Lovely. I'll try that.

Any ideas why I can't edit the text in the properties?

    Thank for your help.

I'm not sure, I can edit it fine!
I little tip... don't try to make Revit be AutoCAD. You will have problems, system families are a pain to modify and manage. I just updated our INDEX SHEETS and used some of the symbols that came with Revit. But that is up to you, once your create a good template it’s easy but getting to that point it took 5 years so far.

    They are a pain

I would use the default section heads if I had my way but the problem with this project is that lots of other departments are doing dwgs not in revit and our symbols etc need to be the same.

Ticking that box hasn't made the text rotate?

    Where are you editing it?

Edit** You have to actually place the section on a sheet before you can edit it!!! silly me.

The text still isn't rotating...nearly there!!

The Heads In blue mean that they refer to another view. They should print black unless you check view links in blue under your print setup.

    Thank you for that.

Any idea how to attach the label to the section head so it moves and rotates when I draw a section line that is not horizontal?
