Default Perspective view of Revit linked files shows "phantom" elements

    Hi,

A user from our office brought to my attention what seems to be a bug in Revit Architecture 2012: He has a master file with different Revit files linked in. When in a perspective view he noticed some "phantom" elements belonging to the linked files, away from where they were supposed to be (see attached). Plan and any other non perspective 3D view shows everything fine. Just the 3D camera (perspective) views are the issue. If he tries to zoom in, the "phantom" elements disappear, which makes difficult to find out what they are. They cannot be selected as well. We found out any circular element on the linked files like railings, circular columns, circular balusters are missing their edges and the "phantom" elements are actually these edges that are flying away from where they were supposed to be drawn. If he replaces the circular elements for square elements on the linked files and reload, all pesrpective views will look just fine.

Have any of you ran into this?

    Thanks,

    Andre Carvalho

    Andre,
Check curtain wall elements in the linked file. We had client who ran into this issue and it was traced back to curtain wall extended to the underside of a roof.
The only fix was to copy the curtain wall to the clipboard, delete the original and paste/aligned to the same place.
Not sure if the cause was a corrupt element or just gremlins.
