Can someone help me out and explain how I can insert tree symbols?

Is the symbol something other than a block? If not drop it in just like any other block. If it is not a block what is it?

It also depends on what you're doing.

For Engineering, you might just insert a block, as mentioned.

For Survey, the usual procedure is to setup the Description Keys so that the tree symbol is inserted automatically as you import the survey data. Although that description is a bit misleading... In Civil 3D, the symbol is part of the Point Style, so what you really do is use the Description Key to assign an appropriate Point Style.
