Chain-Link Fence

Has anyone found a good way to show a Chain-Link fence? As or right now I'm using a vertical surface from Civil3d and applying a transparent wire mesh across it. This works ok, but in order to get the material to look correct when the fence turns I have to have each straight segment a different surface.

I wanted to use the railing objects in Revit, but with this I'm not able to place the objects in Revit at the correct elevations to go along with my civil3d surface, I'm stuck using my above method.

With Navisworks, if you can get it to show up in your software, we can pretty much get it to show up in Navisworks just by appending it to the model..

Using AutoCAD, we've done it the simple way (2D region, then apply transparency in Navisworks), the not-so-simple way (using narrow diagonal 2D regions to represent the wires), and the "that is SO cool!" way (2D region, then apply mesh material in Navisworks).

I'll try using the 2D region and see how that goes. There should be a simpler way to do this.

You need to apply a grid material in presenter to your object. You will then need to edit the material and rotate the image and maybe adjust the spacing of the grid. make it 75-85% transparent. Set your viewpoint to render appearance. Hope that helps. Its pretty sloppy though when you go to navigate.

Trying to use wrapped grid with orange color to represent construction/safety fence. The grid only shows up on horizontal planes. Vertical planes only have vertical lines. Same thing happens when I try to define a new material with an image file. Any ideas? Thanks.
