Find will only fix the text that is displayed, not the information stored inside the text object under contents.
The LISP above works great though. I just typed in %%U for the first string, and nothing for the second. You probably want to center your text alignment first.

This lisp has been around for years. I don't know who created it. I can confirm that it loads correctly in 2010.

I still have the huge 1997 CHGTEXT.LSP from Autodesk that used to come with AutoCAD. All the options not in Walt's code above have been replaced with newer functionality.
