Question Turning off a filled region from a linked model

I have made an emergency light fixture family that has a solid filled region, and the architects that are linking in our model are unable to turn of just the hatching. I put the hatching on a seperate sub category, and even when they turn of that sub category, the hatching remains.
Anyone else have a similar issue or is it just not possible to turn of a filled region from a linked model???
    Thanks in advance.

Just set it's visibilty to only be seen in say medium and have the archies set their view detaiils to fine or course.

Or you can also use a bunch of detail lines instead of a filled region. I think Revit should have the ability to let you turn on and off filled regions without having to adjust the detail level of the filled region.

I changed the detail level to be only visible on coarse, since the architects and mechanical engineers have their views set to medium, and the lighting views are set to coarse, so that works. However, I wish their was a category under annotations that they could just toggle on/off to turn off the filled regions.
I currently just use detail lines to fill in as a filled region, but if the fixture goes from 4' to 8' long or from a 24" diameter to a 30" diameter, the detail lines won't adjust to fit the other size.
For now, I will go with the detail level option, to cut down on the number of lighting families.
    Thanks for your feedback.
