Civil 3D custom profile issue

When I create a custom profile in Civil 3D 2012 the resulting profile when used in my icon to set the profile, opens with the AutoCAD splash screen and has the ACAD icon for the applications button. Everything seems to load as C3D, but it seems odd when the ACAD splash comes up, but have not found any issue from this so far.

I was thinking it may be caused by a bad registry key that is created when the profile is created or loaded???
Submitted the issue to Autodesk and it is a known issue, that currently has no solution. This seems odd as well, really no one knows what determines which splash screen comes up???

I would perfer not to use the custom profile, but since the file path customization is not an option during the process of creating the deployment image anymore, the custom profile has been the workaround, so to say.

Does it only happen when you create deployment images?

I'm using a custom profile, and I see the C3D 2012 splash screen during startup. But I have a standalone version installed directly on my computer.

Good question, that I don't have the answer to at this time. I have only created images for network deployments that use custom profiles. The SA that I have installed have not used custom profiles. I will have to test it. I was assuming it was across the board issue with custom profiles in 12, maybe it is just networked installs. I check this when I can. Thanks!
